EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF DOWNTOWN PITTSFIELD, INC.
Well-established nonprofit dedicated to the economic revitalization of downtown Pittsfield seeks an Executive Director. Candidate must possess a magnetic personality, strong communication and relationship-building skills, a good sense of humor, and the ability to organize and manage a variety of projects. Experience in nonprofit management and marketing is preferred.

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
Establish strong relationships with retail business owners and other members of the organization, government officials, and members of the media; be the public face of the organization; serve as liaison between downtown businesses and city government.
Provide administrative support to the Board of Directors and committees, including committees working on the organization’s strategic objectives and administrative committees such as the Executive Committee and Finance Committee; attend occasional evening and weekend meetings and events, including City Council meetings as needed.
Supervise marketing coordinator or contractor in order to market downtown Pittsfield and its businesses through all forms of media; execute a communications strategy including social media posts, regular email blasts, and website updates.
Promote and solicit membership in the organization, including by providing a high level of service to members and by selling advertising space in Downtown Guide; develop relationships with donors and sponsorship opportunities for businesses and organizations.
Participate in initiatives relating to the mission of the organization that are organized by the City of Pittsfield or other organizations, including but not limited to Artscape, 3rd Thursdays, First Fridays Artswalk, and the Commission on Tourism.
Manage the day-to-day operations of the office of Downtown Pittsfield, Inc. This includes the fiscal responsibility of the organization’s finances as well as the finances of its sister organization Downtown Pittsfield Cultural Association. Fiscal responsibilities for both organizations include writing checks and preparing budgets and financial statements.
